Colossal Angkor still inspires

The medieval city of Angkor lies at the very heart of Cambodian society. The spires of its temples appear on its flag, and its sculptures inspire thousands of tourists to visit the nation annually.

But do you know how colossal the city of Angkor really is?

In our series tracing the work of Australian archaeologists around the world, this week Adam Connors speaks with archaeologist Roland Fletcher.

Dr Fletcher, along with Cambodian artist Srey Bandol, offers a unique look at this pre-industrial capital.

And both offer hints at how Cambodia has moved on from its past, and continues to do so.
